Title: 4449 11" Craftsman
Post by: Lostmind on July 25, 2012, 12:28:49 PM
My original question was going to be about the paint, but I found others with this color . So I'm going to assume it's original.
So new question is ,where to go for date of year made?
I see they are fairly common in rusty condition.

They were available from 1955-61, but it's possible the date range could be 1953-1964.

Yeah, that's a bit odd.

Your wrench does not appear in the 1952 catalogue, although a more modern Crescent-type adjustable does. Strange they would introduce an older style (that had been around for decades) in the mi-1950s!

And they continued to offer them past 1964, but the model number changed by 1965...
