Title: Packer Auto Specialty Co.
Post by: jimwrench on June 25, 2012, 09:13:48 PM
Got me a socket set today. Maybe I'll take up mechanicing. Is that a word?
Anyway Ratchet is stamped Packer Auto Specialty Co. Chicago USA. Also has Ray trademark. MY question is what is this trademark on largest socket ?

That's a Walden socket. I have a Ray set with Walden, Mossberg and Ayers sockets. I have no idea which ones are replacements, but I'm guessing Mossberg.

Thanks Eddie ;I should have known that and now I do.
I keep getting these internal server error messages when I try to load photo but eventually it works. Took about 4 tries to get these pics loaded.

I have been having some trouble also. Probably the hosting company has oversold the server space. I'll check with them later tonight when I get caught up at work.

This set contains Ray,Walden and Mossberg sockets. Don't recall seeing Ray sockets before so assume it will take a while to find all correct sockets. Another excuse to attend another auction. Any info on the original contents of this set appreciated.

Has anyone gathered anymore info on Ray sockets? I picked up a different socket design today and there's another different set here http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=247075.
