Title: Rolling Tool Box Brand

Can anybody spot the brand of this box based on the picture available here?

I can see a big block letter K followed by the rest in cursive, if I blow it up, but I don't recognize it. Three dots appear to precede the K. It is shaped like it might read K enline or something like that. I tried to see Kennedy but can't. The resolution goes away with the zooming. The sticker or badge on the bottom has a similar look, but is not the same. They may not have anything to do with the maker of the box. Big help, eh? Krauter would fit better than Kennedy.

I've seen similar boxes for sale at various places - not high quality, the ones I've seen.  If the price is right (say $10), toolboxes with drawers are always nice to have.  Just don't load down the drawers.

I have one of the top boxes. The only difference I can see is that mine has a black plastic or bakelite handle on top. Quite cheaply made. Not a mark on it that I can see. I"ve seen 2 other top boxes and one base recently at farm auctions. That number makes me think they were sold in Alberta at some point. There are no K Marts here and I doubt that there were American chain stores when those boxes were new so I doubt that it is a house brand Unless it was Sears. Sears entered Canada sometime in the 1950's through an agreement with Simpsons and became Simpson Sears Canada. Other major suppliers to this area would have been Eatons (mail order), McLeods and Beaver Lumber. None of which operated in the US as far as I know.

I have one that is tagged 'True Value Master Mechanic' I suspect that some company like Waterloo or Park made them under contract to the big box stores.
