Looking for info on this. It is German and has a perfect handle type of handle. Also has flat screwdriver on bottom of handle. Dealer at the flea market has had it for a while. What would be a good price to offer him?

a wood shingle hammer? a hammer,nailpuller,screwdriver and a hatchet

Any way to feel out what he thinks he can get?

Someone here once told me in a PM something along the lines of "I've not found it wise as a buyer to suggest what a fair price would be." I'm beginning to agree as that approach has had a better result for me, as the buyer.
I have no idea what it's value might be.

Several months ago he told me a price that seemed way too high. Like $50-60. I would hope he has come down some but probably more than i think it is worth. If I hadn't spent almost $500 at an auction today I might offer him $20.

My rule of thumb is nothing at a flea market is worth more than $20 just because it is at a flea market. (OK, it's not scientific, but it works well for me)
There is one on ebay UK for $35, but that's BIN asking ,and it's still there, so 15-20 is probably more plausable....
Tell him he is missing the leather holster that goes with it btw ;P
There is one on worthpoint also ...(I don't have an account there, so it won't tell me what it sold for ...)
They don't sell often,so, really, it's worth whatever you are willing to part with to get it ;P

"Fair" is somewhat relative. Since he was asking $50-60, and it hasn't moved, it's safe to assume he would've accepted $40 had it been offered, but it hasn't. In which case, I believe $30-35 is fair. $20-$25 is a good deal. Personally, all this aside, I think it's worth the better part of a hundo. 7-8 years ago, a buck fitty. Just my .02.

If I had it in hand and condition was very good, I'd offer $30-$35.

In perfect condition maybe 20.
If you are lucky, there is a crack in one of the handles and you can get you a worthwhile project much cheaper. They aren't very rare,....................... stock.
