Title: Craftsman handled 8 inch Mill file from the flea market!
Post by: keykeeper on April 01, 2012, 02:30:48 PM
Never seen a Craftsman file with the handle like this, so I bought it for the princely sum of $2!

Anyone know a vintage on this, or should I just use it?

Other that some slight rust, the file is still in great shape, not loaded with filings or beat to death.

keykeeper,

That's a modern Crafty file, made by Simmonds International, ca. 2008 - 2012.  It's a quality USA made file, just not vintage.

Put it to good use.

How about that?! I've never seen one...

Can the handle be removed & used with other files, Aaron?

Good to know, Lauver. Thanks. I bought it to use, anyway, as it was in good shape and still sharp. (Don't forget CHEAP).

LBG-Doesn't look like it is removable. I pulled on it pretty good, and it doesn't twist on that I can tell. This is the first one I've seen, as well. Handle feels good, so this will get relegated to my file selection in the shop/shed/junkhole!!
