A fella was selling off his late father’s tools and I couldn’t believe that I snagged this grouping, that someone didn’t beat me to it. Mostly name brand tools, with a few Japanese pieces thrown in. A lot of Armstrong and a mix of S-K, Snap On, Wright and None Better.
What I did find surprising was there were no wrenches.
The two flex head rats are identical, one marked Japan the other not marked. The 3 male/male extensions and the speeder in the center are only marked ‘made in U.S.A.’
My only disappointment is that the Plomb rat only works in one dirction. For now.
The Sparta set looks like it was never used, the rat in the Challenger set in the green box is heavily marked with the PO name, the set in the black box are Ray tools.
In the tray in the first pic is a group of 1/2" dr, shallow sockets. There are 17, 12 pt and go from 1-1/16 to 5/16; 6, 8pt from 5/8 to 5/16, one 4 pt 11/16". Pic is in the next post!
I spent hours on AA trying to find the manufacture and came up blank. Does anyone know who made these?
Thanks in advance.

Missed the pic of the socket I'd like identified.
-
The socket is likely made by New Britain Machine co. They are the only ones I know that use *both* a dash fraction divider and line knurling.
First time I have seen the Ray socket set in it's box, nice score : )
Too bad you had to carry out all those stray Snap-On's just to get the others tho *GRIN*

The socket is definetly New Britain (None Better or Husky)
-
Thanks guys. New Britain doesn't surprise me as there are quite a few 1/4 & 3/8 dr None Better sockets.
I appreciate it.
Any idea on the worth of the 1/2" dr Ray set?

Most of my acquisitions don't compare to your Friday night haul. This was a fluke.
