Great forum you have here!
I thought I'd introduce myself, finally. I'm fairly new to tool collecting; really gotten serious about it in the last year or so. I worked at a couple Central California auto dealers for 5 years in the mid to late 80s, which is when I started my modest Snap-on collection.
A couple years ago, I found a bunch of old wrenches for cheap at a thrift store, so I did some research online and found it interesting. I love history, so researching these tools is fun for me. I didn't really do much for another year, until last April when I bought an early 50s Craftsman top and bottom roller box at a yard sale for $50. It is full of Plvmb, Craftsman, Snap-on and several other brands of vintage tools - a heck of a sweet deal. It was at that point that the hook was set. I guess there's no going back now.
Anyway, I hope I can contribute something useful to your forum at some point.
Thanks!
Dave

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. As suggested, here's a pic of the Craftsman boxes that started me on the road to bankruptcy and homelessness. ;)

Thanks! I don't know if I will restore them or not - if I do, it will be later. I cleaned them up as best I could after I took photos; they don't look too bad. I like the idea of original patina, but I also like nicely restored old stuff, too. Maybe when I've done a couple of smaller toolboxes, I'll have the confidence to tackle something bigger.
