Title: C & D PH-802
Post by: jimwrench on February 17, 2012, 07:50:47 PM
Anyone recognize this little box end? One sold in 2011 Cabin Fever auction but no ID. Thought it might be Hazet since they have some similar designations. Sizes look to be 14 and 20 mm. Trademark or foundry mark on back is M in box with corners clipped. My camera card failed and I had to order one out of Hongkong so I bought the camera I'm using at auction last night and am trying it out.

Thanks Rusty. Since this is evidently an American Co.,I guess the sizes are 3/4 and 9/16 across flats. Will try to get some info on C & D Battery Co. When I first saw this wrench I thought someone had put their three digit phone on their wrench but decided that didn't compute. Just a curiosity,I guess

Starting in 1973, I was Service Manager for the Milwaukee C & D Distributor, Courtney Batree Co. At that time, they were making mostly motive power batteries for forklifts and stationary batteries for switchgear and uninterrupted power applications. My guess would be that the wrench was used on for cable connections on switchgear batteries, but I'm sure that it predates my career.
