This 7 1/4" wrench was given to me by a senior mechanic at the Hannum Harley Davidson dealership in Lima, PA. He said it was a 1935 vintage Harley Davidson wrench. The wrench is unmarked, and I have since found 2 more of them here in the Eastern U.S. The wrench is cut from 5/16" steel, and bent 22 1/2 degrees in opposite directions at either end. The hex openings are 1 3/8" and 7/8".
I have emailed Harley Davidson with a request today for an email address so I can at least email photos of this wrench to their HQ in Milwaukee. I am interested in confirming the identity of this wrench. Can anyone out there add anything to aid in this quest?

I believe this wrench was first introduced with the Harley Davidson Knucklhead in 1936. It was also issued with the Panhead. I believe it is the rear axel wrench and i can not remember what side of the wrench is which. I am not a Harley guy, but this should give you enough info find out more. I have one , but with a new job and a new house I am not sure even where it is. If you have not found anything in the next couple of weeks, I will see if I can find mine. This was issued in the standard tool kit for the above motorcycles.
Thanks,
Kirk

Forgot to add most likely made by J.P. danielson

Wow! It's good to have confirmation about these H-D wrenches. Thank you.
How did you determine the J. P. Danielson connection?
-
It is somewhat of an assumption and I do not know if anyone has ever pulled the records from Harley. Every pair of pliers I have ever seen in a Harley Davidson tool kit including the military models all have j.p Danielson pliers. Including up until 1965. Thus the assumption has always been made that J.P. Danielson made the whole kit, but I have no conformation on that. If you find out about J.P. Danielson let me know.
Thanks,
Kirk

For those of us who don't have access to 1936 Harley-Davidson Knuckleheads, here is a picture of one.
