My Husky needs a spring transplant but I have been unable to find a suitable donor despite having been on the list for some time now. I need the unusual 4 cornered spring with the 2 circles, not the small common round one. You can see it in the pictures and if you look closely at the shadows, it's easy to see the shape. I would rather not say what happened to the original. Well, I lost it, but not in the usual way. (soaked in special cleaning sauce; pretty much liquified it). Everything would have worked just fine, but I left it in the sauce a little too long (2 weeks?)
Anyhow, I wonder if anyone has one of these little springs. I would like to bring my Husky back to life so that my Karma can be restored.

I need one also for my None Better S40. One of these days I'll try making one.

Could it have been a brass spring rather than a steel spring?

Didn't we have someone here that was able to make one of those springs?

liquified, rusty, liquefied. could have been gold:)

eddie, did you liquefy yours or did you lose it in a more traditional fashion? I think the non-traditional loss should be first in line for replacement ;) Liqufication is far more tragic, you see. Hell, yours is probably laying right there on your garage floor.

Mine was missing when I got the ratchet.

I may have to try my hand at making the piece. As I recall it's pretty light gage wire. If I am able to make a workable one, I'll make another for you.

That would be nice!

I have several different gages of piano wire if you need some to make the spring...

I know a couple of places I can go check for spring steel. If I don't find anything there, I'll get back to you. Thanks.

Any good hobby shop, especially where the RC nuts play, will have spring wire in any size,
in this neighborhood of sizes. They all need it for their suspensions and elevators etc.
Comes in foot long straightened pieces, just right.
Mcmaster will sell it to you by the pound, and its 1/10th the price,
but then what are you going to do with 932 of them in a tube?
Its too bad they aren't either 032 or 064. I've got a McMaster tube of each of these sizes.

Great tip, Scott. I'll check that out. Thanks.
