My Dad passed away a couple of years ago and we sold the farm he grew up on. I'm finally getting around to cleaning out his things and I came across a box of old, antique tools that must have come from the family farm.
This is a Mossberg #50 ratchet/socket set in the original wood box. I've googled and cannot find information about set #50. Did Mossberg make a farm/tractor set?

Mossberg made and sold a million of them. You see pieces and parts wherever you go.
But not so many are still around complete, and in this good of shape.
I'm drooling.

That's astonishingly good. Complete, too. Better move it away from me and Scott, who are both drooling!

Interesting that Alloy has no info on the #50 set. I have a #14 set and the #50 seems to have a little fewer pieces. Does any one have a listing of Mossberg sets not listed in Alloy?

I have no attachment to this set and would like to see it go to a good home.
There is no information anywhere I can find that will help me determine what it's worth.
How do I sell something like this?
-
Easy.
Just go to ebay, type in Mossberg socket set and go to closed auctions.
Like anything else, people can ask anything.
But looking to see what people actually paid, tossing out the lowest and highest because auctions are fickle,
will give you true current value.
Yours is a pretty big set in good condition, in a decent box, so look at those.
$50 to 80 is what I'm seeing.
Maybe little closer to 50-70 as some of the sets are even bigger.

IF you do auction it on e-bay make sure you state big shipping because you are going to spend some time making it shippable and the damn box is odd shape so you have a lot of packing.
take it from one who has shipped several bob w.

We never heard what happened to this set.
Meanwhile I picked up a number 50 set today, it looks a lot like the set shown in this thread.
mine is missing the extension, and box needs some glue
I wonder how many different sets Mossberg made
