Title: Odd Bracket Like Items Identified
Post by: Bus on December 28, 2011, 01:54:02 PM
A reader from St. Louis identified and sent me the patent for the two bracket like items shown top, right Lot CB093 in the Burkey Auction Catalog.

http://www.wrenchingnews.com/burkey-auction-2012/catalog.html (http://www.wrenchingnews.com/burkey-auction-2012/catalog.html)

They were patented as Vehicle Bow Top Holders by Clarence Blair of St. Joseph, Michigan on July 22, 1919 and assigned to Auto Specialties Mfg. Co. of San Francisco, Calif.

Rusty,
Wish I knew. Look like miniature anchors?

The items in the bottom right corner are Herter's iron decoy anchors, circa 1950s.

Decoy anchors. OK, there's something new :)

Never thought about what keeps them from floating away into the sunset....
