when you buy a craftsman rebuild kit does the dirrectional switch come with the kit. they want a model no. but we don't have one . this ratchet was included in the tool set i bought my first mechanic jpb in the real early 50s the ratchet works good just the handle or switch is broken.bob w.

Yes, the selector comes in the kit.

Bob, that ratchet first appeared in the 1957 catalogue as model 4497. The repair kit was 4498.
I don't have a selector switch for you, but I'm sure you'll find one quickly.

Yeah, I have one. It's not a "D"- post, so if your pawl is a "D"- post you'd have to modify this one. But it's yours if you want it.
