Title: What is It?
Post by: toolman on October 25, 2024, 02:10:12 PM
Any Ideas as to what this is, or may be used for? 36 inches long overall, wooden handle with round hard rubber head, 7 inches x 4 in. diameter. weighs about 10 lbs. Found in the tools section of estate sale, and no info known by seller.

Looks factory made as opposed to homemade. Has a raised "MAHANEY" mark inside a 1 inch x 1/4" rectangular box on rubber.

One of my wags was a Wheel Chock hammer but could not find a look-a-like.

Thanks for Any Help

Gong or chime mallet?   Absolute guess, but seems reasonable to me.
Or light it & walk thru caves like the old horror movies..............

Nice work, Yadda!  Looking at other products in that catalog, it seems to be used for knocking on tree branches to shake loose fruit or nuts.

BINGO, You Got it Yadda, Thanks! I do live in an AG Area, but Never Would Have Thought Tree Shaker Mallet.

Thanks to all others that Replied as Well, and Sorry for the Delayed Response, as internet service was down for a while.

You Guys are Fantastic!! Take Care All.
