Post by: gary s on June 05, 2022, 01:36:44 PM
What should I do with it ? Paint it make it cool hang it on my patio it's out of my old barn in n. Dak. It fell to the ground and I got it out of the hay loft of the barn for memories it is over 100 years old the barn was built in 1908 and has been through 3 generations of my family.

I wouldn't change the look if I owned it!! Clear coat on the wood, ( not sure what to recommend) and wipe down the steel with a soft cloth and a light machine oil!!

I'm not the right guy to say for sure, but Boiled Linseed Oil works well on wood handles that  see weather  , I use it on rake handles, wheelbarrow handles, etc. , may darken the wood, though!
