The only big store in Finger Lakes Mall is Bass Pro Shops (where I work in marine service). A few mom and pop stores that are only open on Friday and Saturday. The thrift store is one of those. Picked these up...

Xacto aluminum handle, drop forged japan wrench marked A.B.C (no period after C). I can't find any info on this company but they make nice wrenches. I probably have 5 or 6 - mixed metric and sae. Very fine half round file - no teeth on bottom. Neat old hook scraper (badly worn) made by Hook Scraper Co. Inc. (they thought long and hard to come up with that name) Queens Village NY. Patent 1670646 May 1928.

Interesting file, I pick up those whenever they appear. The hook scraper, never seen its kind, for wood? Seldom find a thrift store that I disliked.

I found on "Internet Archive" - 3 pages of Hook Scraper Company tools from a larger tool catalog. In color, with option to zoom in and additional text. While searching I stumbled across an ebay listing for a Red Devil Hook Scraper - they most certainly bought out Hook Scraper Co because the tool is almost identical even to the stamping designs. Red Devil used a hollow brass rivet, the old HS Co used a solid rivet.

I forgot to mention that all the ABC wrenches I have are nicely chrome plated.
Speaking of chrome plated wrenches - I recently sold 3 open end chromed Toyota Motor wrenches - nice, not the cheap wrenches in auto tool kits. I suspect they were catalog items for auto techs, possibly offered to customers as well. Also sold separately a chrome Toyota Motor 10" adjustable. The wrenches sold for $25, adjustable $50. I paid shipping (and fees of course) so my take home pay was a lot less. I remember I cleared $30 on the adjustable for which I only paid a few dollars at a tractor swap meet.

Hello, Al. I thought I had seen "Hook Scraper" before. I have the 3425, but am missing the hook blades!!
