This isn't your typical blacksmith related post. This was acquired about a month ago at an auction I attended to try and add to my cast iron lamp collection. This is a wood carving of a blacksmith working at an anvil with hammer and tongs in hand. The artist is Roy Pace who was from Greenbriar, Robertson County Tenn. He was born in 1911, started carving wooden figures of everyday working class people around 1973 after he was gifted a book on wood carving. Pace lost his sight in 2004 and passed away in 2011. This figure is signed on the bottom and dated 1975. Bidding was lite so I jumped in and won.
