Title: The wrenches no one wanted (Walden)

These wrenches came with the large old socket sets in wood boxes.  Stamped steel, very thin and easily bent and spread.  Apparently most were thrown away as they are rarely seen and almost never in the original socket sets.  They are about 1/3 thinner than the mossberg stamped wrenches.  If anyone has any send me a message.

Back in the early 1960's I got my first tool set. It was a Steven's Walden 1/4 inch / 3/8 socket set. It cost me 5 books of S&H Green Stamps. I didn't even have a car yet, just a Sears Allstate moped. I was living in Napa Calif. at the time and had to jump on the Grey dog bus and go South to Vallejo Calif. about 15 miles away because we didn't have a S&H Green Stamps store in Napa.

Walden made some good tools and they also made some junk.  I recently picked up an ignition set in a military OD roll dated 1959 and the set of wrenches were thin and poorly plated.

I’ve found several of these sets made when Walden tools were good quality.
