Hello, Many thanks to Al aka. amecks for a generous donation of 2 of the 3 missing wrenches from this Barcalo set. The 2 at top are the new additions, 7/16 x 1/2, and a 3/4X 7/8. Regards, Lou

That's a nice set of wrenches. I have a couple of Barcalo set but I have not seen that particular version before. Any idea what year those were offered?

I believe that style of DOE wrenches was offered from the early ‘50s until around 1960. Although I don’t have that exact DOE roll, I have a similar roll for combos and a smaller roll for DOE wrenches. Here are some of my Barcalo rolls.

Hello, Don. I was hoping you would chime in to help out gibsontool!!! Thanks, Lou

Hi Lou,
Unfortunately I missed this thread until recently or I might have been able to help with the missing wrenches. It’s nice that Al was able to provide the wrenches to complete the set.

Hello, Don. Thanks for the reply. I like that wooden display/wrench board!!

Thanks guys. That's some nice stuff you got there Don. I'm drooling all over my laptop. That's the first wooden board like that I've ever seen. It has a very high cool factor on my chart. Jim

The wrenches I gave Lou were purchased for me by my mom with stamps from a catalog (I think it was S&H Green Stamps). It was when we lived in Florida so that period ended in 1960 - placing those wrenches in the timeline just where Don said. I wanted them to use on my bicycle.

Could have been the old S&H (Sperry & Hutchinson) or the other one we had around us, the yellow Top Value stamps. Both were given out by various stores in quantities depending on what you bought. I can remember sticking many of those into the books for my mom (I'm weird, i like licking stamps  There's one in every crowd).
The best ones were the stamps which were for one page (instead of a whole page of small stamps).

Yup, Top Value yellow stamps. Might have been those as well. My mom also bought with stamps a tool box for me. Still have it, but I had cut the tray handle off because it was always in the way.
