Title: Local Auction on Monday
Post by: papadan on May 28, 2020, 08:21:51 PM
Hey people, need a little help with values before this auction. Don't expect any collectors, just Flea Market vendors.

1st is a cool old SK tool box in really nice condition. Has some contents but nothing special.

All look good, but I can't help with the values.

If you get those Auto Kit wrenches, i have really good reproductions of the missing stepped pin and nut.

I have that big box--with tray.  Paid $12 for it with two nice adjustable wrenches and a big old copper Schrader valve stem cover.  But your box is in better condition than mine.

Hello, Papadan, If you're bidding against re-sellers, you're in a good spot. They are only going to bid up to a certain point where they can buy it cheaply enough to flip it and make a few bucks, nothing wrong with that. The S-K box would be in the $15 to $20.00 range, depending on condition and contents. I would have a starting price of $75.00  for the socket set if I were to put it on ebay, The Auto-Kit set , if complete , and no owner's marks, $8.00 to $15.00. Don't forget your buyer's premium !!!! Good luck, Lou

Thanks guys, that is a lot of help. The box contents are a plumbers faucet nut wrench, couple putty knives and a couple plastic handle hack saws. PaPaw, If I get the Auto Kits I'll talk to you about the holder.

As I've commented before, probably here, too, those Auto-Kits are sure cool, because you can keep the wrenches together, so you can lose them all at once, instead of one by one; more efficient.

Auction is on until 8pm, people are crazy. Right now the box is at 45, socket set is at 87 and auto kit wrenches are at 60. Out of my zone even if they were worth it.

I would say those prices are definitely on the high side.

I agree that the prices are high. I wish my stuff would sell at those prices!

I guess you need to try a live auction, instead of Ebay.
