Title: Drill Bits 316L

Hello, I was going through some drill bits, and I went to put these in a magnetic tray. The one at top stuck, but the other 2 were rolling around. Then I looked at the stamp, and it reads 316L, plus an R with a border. Why would a bit be made from stainless steel? ( 316L is a common grade of stainless, the L is for low carbon) Thanks, Lou

Could be intended for drilling plastic or wood?

Hello, Dan. I agree, plastic or wood, these are certainly not High Speed Steel. Also the steeper grind angle looks like they would work better in plastic, or, wood. Thanks, Lou
