This is aluminum. 10 1/2 inches long. One side says "GOLDBLATT TOOL K.C. KAN." I think they were a pretty large tool supplier at one time but now seem to specialize in masonry and cement tools. the other side says " UNITED BUILDERS PAT. PEND. MUSKEGON MICH." I think, some of it is pretty hard to read. Thanks

Hello, That is another Mason's string line tool, called a Line Stretcher . I believe used in pairs, designed to fit different sized blocks. This would straddle the top block at a corner, and a string line was stretched between the two. Regards, Lou

Commonly called a 'chicken leg'

Thanks for the info guys. I still couldn't picture how it works so I did a search for videos and found it there. I did discover that there are also countless ways to prepare actual chicken legs, but finally made it to the masons tool. Thanks
