Got a little brass Matticks hammer today.
It's 8 1/2" long with a slender, tapered hickory handle impressed MATTICKS.
The cylindrical head is 9/16" X 1 3/4" It is stamped MATTICKS 749 / PLUS MFG. CO. INC.
Used for?
Haven't seen one like it on the web. Matticks, I can find. But PLUS? Can't find it.
Any ideas?

Don't know them, but a general google turned up nothing and a search on fleabay pulled up one:
"Vintage Matticks No 5 Nylon Faced Machinist Jeweler Hammer" in GB?

Yeah, I found several of them on Google Image, but nothing small, delicate like mine. Perhaps used for gunsmithing. I can see a guy using it to tap out the sights on an old rifle in preparation before refinishing the barrel.
