Title: 10 1/2 Stanley Cutter forward type

I can’t seem to find easy literature on this model. Has anyone heard of a 10 1/2 like it?

For info on the #10 1/2 and #10 1/2C go to page 45, reply 662, pape 63, replies 941 and 942, and page 64, replies 956, 957, 958.

It sounds like the plane you saw was modified.  My guess is that the arches cracked and the plane was “fixed” to create a high angle chisel plane.

Likely a broken tool, cleaned up for re-use as something else.  That plane is notorious for the weakness of the arched area with its opening to allow the cutting iron to stick out on each side.

Thank you gents, those were my thoughts, just it was such a factory look, whom ever did it has done a skilled job of it. I’ll try and get a picture.

Looks like he has a #72 plane next to it also.
