Title: Using your old blacksmith tools to fix other old tools
Post by: oldgoaly on June 01, 2019, 08:22:56 AM
Well the wife brought home this fence tool from a auction about a year ago. I had it in a post vice soaking the stuck part in atf / acetone which has worked well before. Well time to use some heat. Fired up the coal forge, a little paper, twigs and coal and made a small fire. Only needed a small fire cause only one part of the tool was rusted tight. 15 minutes from starting the fire to pouring water to put it out and it is working now!Made a little more smoke than normal cause the atf burning off.
