Title: Reveal files for autobody lead work
Post by: oldgoaly on May 03, 2019, 07:03:23 AM
One of those things I collect and use are old leading tools.
I think they were all made by Heller and sold by others, there seems to be a lot of that in the auto body tool market.

Leading tools as in filing down auto body repairs done with lead?

Yes, file down the high spots, save the lead/tin remelt. small spots, or close to a body bead or detail.
There is a little bondo on some, it's hard to get off, makes a mess on a wire wheel.  Not what they were made for.

Hello, Oldgoaly. Thanks for posting. I have one of the Reveal Tool Holders around here somewhere. Good to to know it was made by Heller, it is unmarked. Your post also confirms that what I have is made of brass. I see a lot of the longer Vixen files when I am out and about, but I have never come across the short version.Regards, Lou
