I really need it.
But the price is really really too high.

Hello, Northwoods. Most sellers are open to offers, you should give them a try!!! Regards, Lou

Yeah, make him an offer. Worse that can happens is he says no.
But that is kinda steep.

I have had better luck getting sellers to accept offers if I wait until after their auction expires.
.......of course, that runs the risk of somebody else coming along and paying what they are asking for it. :/

Ahhhh. That's the estate sale conundrum....

Where did all these 1212 Pebbles go? I'm in the same dilemma, I need this one to complete my Plomb set, $25 is just way too much though. I guess I have to start hitting the estate sales...

Offers are good, but sometimes they are way too low to even consider. Today I posted a Billings Coes 8 inch monkey wrench on Ebay for a starting price of $10. I immediately got an offer of $8. I told the guy I would stick with my starting price and take my chanches on a 7 day auction pushing the price up some.
