Title: Who is Matco, guys at auction didn't know

Another auction buy, this set of Matco pliers was in a box lot that also included four 12 inch USA crescent wrenches.  Not any serious bidding so I bought the lot for $25.00.  Sizes are 4, 12 and 18 inches.

Matco is a company similar to Snap-on.  Those 18 inch pliers are probably worth the total price you paid.

I forgot to add that I knew who Matco was as I have a set of Matco combination wrenches hanging above my work bench and use them all the time.

It should have been obvious to me, but my literal filter was set too high. Great buy!   I watch that auction site for rebranded Knipex.  Pulled off a couple of nice buys that way.

Not that it matters, as they are users, but I cleaned the handles with lacquer thinner and they look like new.

They looked pretty much like new before you cleaned them! Congrats!
