I found a new slippery slope to slide down. I guess its better than collecting full sized anvils...

Nice X 3 !!!!!
-
If you are buying by the pound, I think it is cheaper to collect full sized ones. Some of those miniatures are pretty pricey.
-
But they're so cute
-
I have one that was a free gift from Grizzly tools back in the late 90s. I love that 57 Deere, gonna have to look real hard for one of those.
-
Nice square. Real nice.
-
erm, they are cute...if that's a thing for anvils.
that square is nice...good score all around.
-
Those are neat. All I have is this plain Jane
-
You'll also need to collect small tree trunks to mount them on.
-
Nice one, Amecks!!!
-
School shop classes had them for a sand casting project. I made one for my neighbor with his name on it. Vintage ones with names bring lots of money!!! I like the idea of mounting them on scaled down tree trunks!!!

Yup, you screwed up.
-
Hello, Jim. You started this, and All got me going  This is pretty close to scale with the stump mounted anvil we have at work, . I had fun setting this up, a lot of tree trimming going on in the neighborhood. I spotted the limb, and matched it up to one of my small anvils. Not as nice as the ones you posted!! Regards, Lou

Now you need to find some correct to scale coyote and roadrunner figures to go with the ACME anvil.

Needs a small hammer leaning against the stump. The slippery slope gets steeper!
-
Nice job on the stump, Lou. I will definitely display mine the same way.

Thanks!! It was a fun mini-project!!!Regards, Lou

I think you'll find that when you get to the bottom of the hill you'll have plenty of company! lol
-
Unfortunately I also fell down that hill. While I’ve sold quite a few, I still have over 20.
You have to be a little careful with these since there are some coming out of China that are not old. A lot of them have names cast in the side, like Perdue and John Deere. Like most of their junk the castings are rough, the letters may not be aligned properly, and the shapes are kind of strange looking.
I passed on a miniature Hay-Budden once because I just wasn’t sure and the price at the auction was over $100. It was just stamped on the bottom rather than on the side.

I'm waiting to get to that bottom - I'm still sliding and gaining speed.

There's a bottom to these slopes? I just figured they kept going forever, until they encountered a black hole, into which the person sliding on the slope disappeared, shouting, "But I need just one more!!!"
-
Exactly! When I first started I assumed there was a bottom, and that it wasn't far below me. But the older I get, the steeper the slope gets. No bottom in sight yet.

OK, Steve, I know you like small stuff.
Let's see your vise on the end of a pencil?
-
Theres a vise that will fit on the end of a pencil?
-
Soooo, it took me a while, but I finally added "stumps" to my vises.
Jim

Most excellent!
