Title: National Screw & Mfg Chester No 41 Hoist
Post by: Powrgen3313 on March 30, 2019, 09:29:11 AM
Thinking about taking this apart today to restore and sandblast and possibly repainting it. Any tips on taking this thing apart? Just going to be a wall hanger in the garage. Also anyone know what the original color would have been?

That company is still in operation today. You could probably contact them and get the info you need from them.
Goggle Chester hoist in Lisbon Ohio and you can most likely find a contact number.
Good luck with it. That's a nice vintage chainfall and should look real nice with a new paint job.

Added note - this at one point belonged to the MIT nuclear department, still has the MIT school tag a serial number

So, are you going to put it in a dark closet and turn out the light to see if it glows before you paint it?
