Title: Stopped at a junk store...
Post by: amecks on November 07, 2018, 03:09:33 PM
In Auburn NY.  Grandma Julies (maybe?), on McMaster St.  The shop has been cleaned and organized - a little.  The tools were downstairs - a mess - but I found these:

She asked $10 but I had a 5 and four 1's.  I said How about $9.  She says How about $9.  I'm sure it helped that I complemented her on the new look of the store.
I REALLY like these Nicholson hacksaws.  I have never used a good hacksaw my whole life until this summer when I bought one of these.  Very sturdy, well balanced and the handle makes a very solid grip and is large enough for my hand.
Stanley 1299 utility knife.  I keep buying these and the Defiance 1299's.  I can't help it.  But now I only buy them if they aren't damaged.  They tend to get a small chunk broke off the end just above the blade.
The adjustable is a Wakefield No. 19 Pat'd. Nov. 14 1922.  Needs TLC but will be goog when cleaned up.
Fordson wrench.
