Title: From the Scrapper
Post by: lptools on September 12, 2018, 04:58:19 PM
Hello, All. I have made friends with our local scrapper, and I give him a call when I see something on the side of the road, or if a neighbor needs a clean-out. He recently hauled some construction debris from my on-going project, so I had to stop by his house to pay him. I asked if he ever came across tools that he didn't turn in for scrap, or that he didn't use. This is what he brought out on a tray. That is the largest size BMC Mfg. Co. Wrench that I have seen, a No.11.  I have the 7 & 9 here somewhere.Did they only make the 3 sizes. The adjustable at top has an interesting mechanism, but no markings, hang holes not original. Any ideas on this one? Also a nice Defiance Utility Knife, and I believe the Lawson is missing the nut guards. Regards, Lou

Lou,

What size is that Stanley lever cap?  I know someone who, last I heard, had a chipped cap on a Stanley No. 7 (2-3/8" wide iron and therefore cap).

Hello, Bill. It is too small for a No.7,  (2" width) , and  I'm sure I have a 4 or 5 here that could use an upgrade. Regards, Lou
