looks like someone replaced their wood with lead
or was it born this way?

I would say yes, someone filled that handle with lead for some reason.

Looks like a "perfectly toxic" handle.

Looks like he made a legal sap or billy-club.

Certainly looks like it has been used to whack on things.

The previous owner may of done that after destroying the wood by using it as a hammer.

Could be interesting to use for electrical work (i.e. find the hot wire or contact) :grin:

So if this is a not quite perfect handle does that make it an imperfect handle?
