Stopped by at a shop sale yesterday SE of Portland OR, just off US 101. Picked up two 1/4” rats, a #5 large letter Hinsdale DOE. And the guy had a pair of 70ish Snap on carts with matching boxes. All in nice condition. The guy was 80 and just wanted to be rid of them.
The price: $100 per pair.
The problem: I am on vacation and 1800 miles from home. By air.
Arrrgh!

How did I miss those ? Were they on Craigslist ? I worked in North Portland for 32 years. Working there in the daytime was bad enough. Not the place to be after dark. I witnessed 3 different shootings in the daytime. I am glad I don't have to go over there very often. They do have a real good flea market there on Lombard Street with lots and I mean lots of good fairly priced tools.

I don't even like picking up parts on Columbia blvd at 1 PM on a summer day. This farm boy tries hard to stay out of that big city. I'll pay freight to not go there.

Northwoods,
I sent you a private message with an idea.

I will say that Portland is crowded. But where would they build more freeways to thin out the traffic? BTW, the place was obviously southwest of Portland.

I didn't read you post well enough. Portland and highway 101 doesn't usually equate to the locals. I think of the beach with 101. Lincoln City?

Tillamook and Pacific City.

gtermini. I worked on Commerical Street just off of Columbia Blvd. I also do not like big city's. They are a magnet for lots of sick and evil people. Portland and Seattle are two of the worst.

Nice cool place to be when it's 95 over the hill in the willamette valley. Never breaks 65 on the coast in the summer.
