I picked up this Wilton tilting vise off CL today. It doesn't swivel , but tilts side to side. This one is missing the jaw inserts , but it will work well for gunsmithing as it wont mar the metal. You also use a thick piece of leather. I have another one of these vises with the jaws in much better condition. I'm not sure how comon these vises are , but this is the 3rd one I've come accross. Any idea of when these were made ? I'm thinking 1970's ?

Cool little vise. I've never seen one in the wild or it would come home with me...

Hello, Ken. Very nice!!!!!

don't know that I've seen one before

I have the same one but with a swivel base. Dad bought ours in 1972 from a industrial supply house in Houston he used to deal with. It came with two sets of jaws. I'll try to take some pictures and post today.
I wish you guys would open up the picture size a little bit. It's a nightmare for me to resize a picture to 200k in size from 5mb! I can do it very easy on my smart phone down to about 750k. Any smaller and I have to open up in paint and resize.

Here are the pictures of mine. It came with two sets of jaws, the straight jaws as shown and a set of pipe jaws, which I have no clue what happen to them. I recall dad paying around $12.99 for the vise back then.

Like a really heavy duty version of a parrot vise.

I had one a few years ago that I got from a Russian fellow at the flea market. I sold it to a member of this forum that has a used antique tool website. Somebody told me that my vise was a sheet metal vise. It tilted also and had wide jaws. It also was a Wilton brand vise.
