Title: Vintage Craftsman Pipe Threader
Post by: Ken W. on June 10, 2018, 06:20:55 PM
I picked up this vintage Craftsman No. R 5524 Solid Stock Pipe Dies in the original box. It's for 1/2 & 3/4.  I thought it was too cool too leave at an estate sale.

Nice!

Still have may Pawpaws Rigid pipe threaders 1/8" thru 1" with handle.  They are as old as me.

Very nice.  I imagine the tricky part of using that design was getting the cutting die aligned with the guide collar.  Well, that and using it if you had to cut threads on a piece of installed pipe or in other tight spots.
