Title: Greetings from across the pond
Post by: Phydeaux on May 20, 2018, 10:54:17 AM
Hi
Though I would introduce myself, my user name is pronounced FIDO, and I am on the south coast of England.
I mainly collect British tools, but recently I have become interested in the non Snap-on / Blue Point tools made in the USA.
I have mainly been finding WW2 era items as so many were shipped over during that bit of bother we had with that chap with the Charlie Chaplin Moustache around that time, of which I will be posting some questions
about some of the finds in the not to distant future.
Most of the items have been reaseached using the wonderful Alloy Artifacts site, but there are one or two that still elude my efforts.
Mrs Phydeaux does not know about my new interest, but the freat thing is that tools are easy to sneak in.

Until the next time
Woof

Glad to have you aboard ! We have several U K members, and welcome more. We are always ready to help ID old tools.

I guess you have read Winds of War by Herman Wouk.

And a warm welcome from sunny Florida. There are a great group of very knowledgeable people that frequent this site. You should fit right in...even if you do talk kind of funny

Welcome from another resident of Central New York state.  I'm a founder of the British Motorcycle Club of CNY.  I own a Triumph and a Royal Enfield as well as another bike with a Triumph engine.  I have a selection of T Williams Superslim Whitworth/British Standard wrenches that help me work on the bikes.

Welcome,  always glad to look over old tools.   Do you see many hand tools in plain steel, stamped:  War Finish?   On occasion a UK made tool surfaces here, like the little wrench I have stamped RAF.
