I have no idea what this is for but it's a neat piece. I'd appreciate any information. Also may put it up for sale so any idea of value? Other than IHC the only marking is U50.

That would be a small alien.
But in all seriousness..... Gas wrench? (Just a guess)

Rathbone lists 2 as sold for $5.00 and $12.50 back when tools were valuable.
-
Bus will probably know...
It's apparently listed in Rathbone along with the other half (U51) - which you're apparently missing - as R1-255. Here's a picture from The Wrenching News:

It's used in the McCormick-Deering seeding drills.

J.A.F.E., I have never been introduced to your little green friend. What is his story?
-
Thanks for the answers and thanks lbgradwell and Bear.
These IHC tools are pretty scarce in the middle of Los Angeles.

That's T.L.G.G. - The Little Green Guy. He's a ham for the camera when I take tool pics.

>That's T.L.G.G. - The Little Green Guy
Not to be confused with TBGG (The Big Green Guy)
-
I rather like Gumby, thanks rusty.

The first clue for me was IHC- International Harvester Company. Probably a machine specific tool
-
That wrench was for a seeder/planter.the hook on the end was for opening burlap sacks.
-
Ahh! , I always wondered why some farm wrenches had that odd little hook thinggy...
-
J.A.F.E. pm your address . I think I have a Spare U51. If I have I'll send it to you so you will have a complete tool..
-
U50 & U51 were IHC cream separator wrenches.
-
Stoney that is most kind of you. PM sent.
Wrenchmensch thank you for the info.
-
Gil Irp's "IHC Tools" and all the IHC Parts Lists I've seen show the U50, U51 and UA51 as IHC Grain Drill wrenches.
As a side note all the parts lists Ive's seen show the two opening wrench but almost all found are the three opening version. The two opening ones as shown in The Wrenching News auction picture (#1149) above are fairly rare.
-
Stoney very generously sent me the U51 to complete the tool. Thank you Stoney it is greatly appreciated.
