Title: Unusual plier feature
Post by: Plyerman on January 06, 2018, 09:03:48 PM
Well I haven't seen this one before. Was scratching my head, trying to figure out what the 1-through-6 numbers were for on the inside handle face of these pliers. Then I managed to find the patent and read up on it. Turns out they are for measuring. Spread the handles to numeral 4, and it measures exactly 4 inches from handle tip to handle tip. And so on and so forth, 1 through 6. Kinda clever.

I agree, another nice set of pliers. Just like adjustable wrenches everybody had/has a better idea to sell something.

Patent number 1,364,829. No mention of it being assigned. By the looks of this New Product Notice I found, it would appear that the inventor himself owned the company that produced it.

That is fantastic!   Another neat tool to watch for as I scour auctions.
