Hello, I looked at an ad on Craigslist, and they had this lawnmower blade balancer on a table. I looked more closely, and I saw what I thought was a Starrett Vial for a machinist's level. I was the first one there, brought it home , and sure enough , it is a Starrett, ground vial, with rotating cover!!!!! I bought this to swap out the broken vial on a Starrett Machinist Level that I have here. Guess what I can't find??????? We have a What's It Forum, I need a "Where Is It Forum"!!!!!! Regards, Lou

Well, yeah, but did you get that valuable blade balancer?
Congratulations. I wouldn't mind finding one of those, myself.

It is in the last place you will look ! Or in the fridge !

Lou, welcome to the "I put it in a safe place, but I forgot where club."
but it bugs ya more if you just had it yesterday.

But, but... you have the part now! You'll find it when you quit looking and forget about it for a while and then you won't be able to find your new vial.

Your "in the fridge" remark reminds me of a story. When I was in college, I was the resident landlord of a house my parents owned. We rented out rooms to 6 or 7 other guys, and I collected the rent, did upkeep, etc. One of the guys always paid his rent on time, and sent it directly to my parents every month. One time they called me complaining that he had not paid the rent. I was pretty sure he had, and he, I , and my parents went round and round about it for a couple of weeks. One day my Mom calls me, and tells me they found Duke's check. He had paid it. I asked where they found it. There was a long pause, followed by "in the refrigerator".

Hello, I've got good news & good news. I found the broken level (good news) , but I wasn't even close on the vial size. I still have the smaller vial, and I put it away with the other Starrett levels (good news)!!!!! Thanks , Lou
