Title: Stanley 9-3/4 Tail Handle

Hello, I have been searching for one of these for a long time. The plane body is badly damaged. One of the best parts planes I have ever found!!!!!!!!!!! Regards, Lou

Neat plane!  It makes for a much better week when find a tool you've been seeking for a long time.

Hello, Guys. Thanks, now all I have to do is dig out a decent 9-1/2, and swap some parts!!!!!!!!!

Those squirrel tails were separate, correct?
Buy a 9½ and add the tail?

Hello, Chilly .Thanks!!!!!  I don't have my Stanley Guide here right now, but I have never seen the handle offered separately. Yes , the handle and nut you could call an add-on, or accessory.I believe Stanley marketed the 9-3/4 as a set. Prongs of the handle are proprietary to the 9-1/2. With that being said, Stanley slightly changed the space between the prongs, still fits a 9-1/2, but you had to have a plane and handle from the same production era.
