I have a question for a Snap-On collector. Is this a Snap-On toolbox or did someone just put the Snap-On logo on it?

If you don't get an answer here, you might try here: http://www.collectingsnapon.com/forum/index.php (http://www.collectingsnapon.com/forum/index.php)

If you look on the back on the lower right corner there should be the date of manufacture and the city. I think it also says Snap-on, if it is one. Look close as the stamping is hard to see.
I can't tell by just looking at it.

Thanks for the info, I will check when I get home

I am quite sure that it is a Snap-On toolbox and Mike is correct about the stamping.
Should be a kra-377 I believe and there should be a cover that fits that lower section.

Thanks, I looked on the back but cannot see anything. Looks like there's a couple layers of paint on it, probably covered up if it's there.

yeah if there is a couple layers of paint you probably wont be able to see it. If you go to collectingsnapon.com and find the 1967 catalog and look on page 9 you will see one like the one in your pic.

Thank you, I was just trying to confirm that it was Snap-On, I have it on Craigslist & got a message from someone telling me that he thinks it's not Snap-On & actually a Craftsman box. I just wanted to make sure I don't sell someone the wrong thing!

It looks like this box...
Which is made by Metal Box and Cabinet Co. They made the same box for Snap-On. There's supposed to be a panel to cover the front which lifts out and hangs on the back of the cab on two welded tabs. The yellow box here also has a shelf.
I restored the top box and painted it the original orange color. The bottom cab is very rough but will get a clean-up, new wheels and quicky paint job.

I just checked my PAR-X / SNAP-ON tool box and the box information was on the back in the middle of the panel. Mine is marked,

Ok, I will have to check again, I stripped some of the paint off on the bottom right corner but didn't see anything. I will have to look in the middle!
-
It might help to use a bright light and look from different angles as sometimes that's the only way it will be seen.

The drawer pulls on your bottom box is the same style as the drawer pulls on my top box.
