Along with the twist wrench I bought from Benjy came a What's-it. Two rings forged together with flats like it is intended to be a wrench of some kind, though the flats are not uniform, and the rings are not truly round. They are about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Twelve points on each.
Any ideas?

I have no clue...

If they were seperate with a side lug and hole in each I would say that they were nut locking rings. BUT their not! Hard to imagine two large nuts so close together but I'm still leaning towards some sort of locking rings?
What "education" we get here, hopefuly someone will know what they are.

If they were two different sizes or configurations, I would guess a hand wrench for some light duty.

Small oil filter wrench ??

No idea, be interesting to see what others have to say

Easy to figure out, old school bubble blower .

That is possible, Bob.
-
these 2 came in the same box,,approx 5 inches
-
That leads me to think they guy was making his own wrenches.

WAG - Bearing nut lock ring for 2 connected gears...

Now we are getting somewhere! I can see that.
-
Dont have a referance for size but assuming they are small enough I would say spring wrenches, some of the original tool kits carried same size wrenches for this purpose
-
They are about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Twelve points on each.

Have seen a holding fixture similar to this for locking two overhead camshaft drives, so one doesn't loose the timing on an engine, but not so close together.

looks like the little wrenches are copper, probably cheaper gas valve packing nut wrenches--usually brass around gas lines IMAO
-
Definitely not copper, and not little.
