Went to the Habitat Restore today and bought some misc stuff. The best stuff was 3 sockets. A unused Proto 11/16 socket Los Angeles marked 12 point in 1/2 inch drive. # 5422. Next is a like new Craftsman in 1/4 W size. A Whitworth 12 point in 1/2 inch drive. No part number. V series marked. Next is a Plomb 1/4 inch Allen socket in 3/8 drive. Cadmium finish. Number 5287-1/2-S. The hex drive section is twisted a bit on the tip. The socket is marked by a former owner with the letters UAL-PD. There is also another owners mark, but I can't read it. I will have my picture person put some pictures on tomorrow night. I have not found any info on the Plomb socket.

Nice! We had a small very rainy motorcycle swap meet today. My friend Hunter nabbed a set of 3 Craftsman long double box ends in Whitworth sizes - for $2 each! And the seller threw in a Barcalo DBE as well. While I am envious I can't complain - I have a pretty good set of Brit size wrenches and sockets.

Many years ago I bought a cigar box full of Snap-On sockets for a couple of dollars at a garage sale. When I got home a found out they were all in Whitworth sizes. I was kind of pizzed off for not checking them better. Years later I resold them for a nice profit on eBay. British stuff. Don't even get me started about LUCAS, the prince of darkness.
