Title: Strange find
Post by: Nasutushenri on April 27, 2017, 07:27:04 AM
A remarkable find in the local charity shop in my place of residence , Bussum, The Netherlands. A Japanese screwdriver, apparently sold in St. Ann, MO., U.S.A. by Hood Tool. Quite a journey

I've purchased plierenches from England, Canada and Australia. In 1924, plierenches were included in the tool kits of air planes that flew around the world.  I stay amazed at the disbursement of tools around the world.

I'm about 30 miles from there, never heard of it? Many people have heard of Shapleigh Hardware which was a large operation in it's day. The "Hood's" name is well known for being a discount/salvage/junk stores post WW2.
The are some strange "how did it get there" stories for sure.

I found one small blurb that indicated they were an importer in the 70's. Now how it found it's way from the U.S. to you Nasutushenri would be an much better story that we will probably never know.
