For cutting and working on "BX" armored conduit, straight out of Wile E. Coyote's workshop. Electricians I know just use a hacksaw. Must be they never heard of this Goldbergian contraption. Patent No. 1,670,250 from 1928.

Up here in my neck of the woods they call the stuff flexible conduit, or just plain BX

Hello, plyerman. Very cool looking tool!!! The electricians in our shop use a hacksaw for the most part. Some of the guys use a hand held rotary cutter. Thanks for sharing, Lou

What a pair of pliers! But it sorta looks like a blood blister waiting to happen.

I hate armored wire, I'll take three. I have a hand vice somewhere for cutting the stuff straight with a hacksaw.

One of my favorite contraptions. I keep looking for one.

Anybody watch the videos that this Tubalcain guy puts up on youtube? They are pretty entertaining really. Anyhow, here is one where he does a demonstration of the Triangle tool in action:

Cool video!

I loaned my son two of the hand-crank type BX cutters and asked him to return one when he'd tried them out...hmmm...I need to ask him again, since I haven't seen either one since.
I've used a hacksaw, too, but it can be frustrating. I have learned that it's worth getting out the saw with the 32-tpi blade on it.

Tubalcain , Keith Rucker(vintagemachinery) and Tom Lipton(oxtoolco) to name a few, they all have different old tools from time to time.

Funny, around here they call that conduit MC.

The way a lot of these youtube guys drone on and on in a monotone voice, makes me want to shoot myself. Or shoot them. I turn the sound off after about 30 seconds. But I like that Tubalcain guy. Just the way he presents himself you can tell he's a very down to earth sort of guy.
