Title: Gunsmith tool?
Post by: rustyfordgarage on March 14, 2017, 11:20:29 PM
Got this a while ago.  I can't find a name or mark on it.   From the best I can tell, by the flat spring that is dovetailed in to the handle and the brown rust type finish,  I would say it was made by a skilled gunsmith.  I guess I just haven't read far enough through my pile of old gunsmithing books to know exactly what it does.  And who knows, maybe I am completely wrong?  Either way I like reading the ideas that come up here. Thanks in advance!

Once again I forgot to put a scale in the pic.  Its about 5" overall length

I'm thinking more along the lines of a jewelers or watchmakers tool.

yours look like a much earlier pair, perhaps it never had a ring. depended on hand pressure.
