I found a NASH #2 last week but they seem somewhat common...still cool though. Just wondering out of all the brands on say Alloy-Artifacts are there any you should really keep an eye out for? Thinking more wrenches because that is the most variety of brands I'm encountering.
-
I watch for Mossberg, Ampco, Berylco, Buffum, Bluepoint, Maytag, Bullard, self adjusting nut and pipe wrenchs, and many farm implement wrenchs especially cut out wrenchs, but these are personal choices and this list is by no means complete. To each his own.

I'm with Jimwrench. Find out what you think is interesting, because you will be living with what you collect.
Me, I like Plomb. And Mossberg. And Bridgeport. And Craftsman. And Bonney. And Snappy. And Carb-O-Mang (an early SK product).

I'll be sure to look for them. What I've been doing is making a mental note and then googling the brand and then I invariably go back and grab it within a day or two. So much interesting history as you get into it. Don't want to go too crazy but I still need a few sizes and right now I'm kind of doing one brand per type and size. These were the ones that got me started...that Gordon Tools out of Sheffield England has a great look and feel.

I have always been partial to H D Smith and Bergman.
-
I really got started with the early adjustables, monkey wrenches, then narrowed it to Coes wrenches, then went looking for railroad monkey wrenches. Then discovered the earlier JH Williams and Sons wrenches. Walden Worcester socket wrenches with the permanent sockets were next in my path. I will only mention I have sort of a thing for New Britain wrenches. Old farm equipment wrenches were always around the place here, so I started gathering them, hung them on the wall. A person could choose one of several series of Craftsman or SK wrenches to collect, and spend a long time doing it. With collecting, the gathering is the thing, not the end point.

WWI or earlier anything, pre WWII Billings and Spencer, Williams and Ford car kit tools.
Then multi tools and marvel gimmick tools of all sorts. It doesn't pile up all that fast as sparce as the markets are.
-
Eifel Plierenches and later model plierenches, but any older gimmicky pliers, adjustable wrench or multi tool is of interest. I also like Bernard/Schollhorn/Lodi/Sargent parallel pliers.

Today's finds...Haggled a bit $5.00 for 3...I've been in there a bit so maybe now they think they better up their prices..A Williams..A Plomb...and what looks like a CH that I haven't looked into yet.

Hello, Is that an I H ? International Harvester? Regards, Lou
-
Pretty sure now it's CHI which might mean Chicago Manufacturing Company? Closest I've seen so far on Alloy Artifacts...they only have a couple of tools from them...EDIT: I think you nailed it but Case International Harvester...Thanks!

I believe The wrench # 12737 DA is an IHC Magneto Wrench smallish? about 5 inches long?

Yeah about 5 inches long....no size markings so it must have a specific purpose like you say. Thanks for the info!

I am pretty much a fan of any old American tool. I really don't focus on one specific brand. If I like it for whatever reason an it's reasonable price I will buy it.
Some brands are more desirable to most then others. I really don't pay much attention to what's popular as much as what I like.

I collect whatever I don't have, that way I'll never have to worry about finding another hobby.
