Title: What is it?
Post by: trapper on August 29, 2016, 09:35:28 PM
What is this tool used for ? It is about 35 inches long. The shaft has a screw inside to lengthen or shorten. The two hooks on bottom move out or in. I can't read the name on it.Probably has a lot of pulling power.Thanks.

it's a rim tool for the old split rims, my 1926 Chevy has those rims, so I have a few of them, yes last count was 4, all different brands.

Many , many makers and designs of rim spreaders. I've had about 20 , all different.
From the era when every driver carried tire tools and patch kits.

Thanks a lot for the info on the rim spreader. A friend didn't know . It seems he should have since he has driven & owned big trucks most of his 67 yr's. I can't wait to tell him.
