Title: NIB Marking gage

I found this Stanley 97 marking gage and it looks NIB.  My only question is that the label on the box looks to be older
(based on label type study in the back of Walters) than the marking gage.  Maybe a leftover box...or maybe the two didn't start out together.

It looks like it has a jappanned finish which would date the gage to the war years. I don't know about the box.
